Storytelling with socks

King × Portland is a men's clothing subscription service that provides high quality fashion-first socks. Every month they create a unique design each with a name and story that inspired the look. I was tasked to create a brand mark and extensions, and then later brought back on to conceptualize a campaign around a signature collection. The brandmark and name center around the founders origin. The company came to life at the corner of King Street West and Portland Street, inspired by Toronto’s fashion district they work from, and the drive for accessible fashion. The crest pulls together iconography from the product (socks, one for each of the founders) the service (shipping, signal flags, Portland), and the crown (King). The mark also breaks down into submarks each used for different applications. Paired with beautiful photography and marketing strategy of Ashley Klassen, the brand, e-commerce platform, packaging collateral, etc. construct a dignified yet accessible aesthetic.
