A hair salon line across Massachusetts, Mane & Mani approached our team with an old challenge: successfully translating a handmade aesthetic onto the web. The brand utilized textures, gold foil, rough swashes, and more to create a confident, personal brand language. It was a project of balancing clarity and web standards with expressive graphics to create a functional and captivating UI. This balance had to extend into the companies new e-commerce venture, that required clear user paths-to-purchase without losing any of the charm. After an extensive process of conceptualization and testing, we constructed a system that gave space for both the brand and the site's utility without segmentation.
